An 18-year-old was found with over $1 million worth of hard narcotics.
On Saturday, September 28, at about 10:30 p.m., U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the San Luis port of entry, encountered an 18-year-old U.S. citizen driving an SUV applying for entry from Mexico. The young man was sent to secondary inspection where CBP officers used non-intrusive technology to scan the vehicle. Anomalies were found throughout the vehicle and a K-9 Team also responded to the SUV. An extensive search led to the discovery of 140 packages of narcotics hidden in the door panels and floor of the vehicle. Three of the packages contained over 7 pounds of fentanyl powder, 27 packages contained nearly 61 pounds o blue fentanyl pills, and 110 packages contained over 107 pounds of methamphetamine. The narcotics had an estimated street value of slightly over $1 million. The 18-year-old driver was turned over to U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
