(Public Health releases another Heat Related Illness update)....Mother Nature has extended the excessive heat in Imperial County.
The National Weather Service says the heat will remain for the foreseable future. According to the latest update, Heat Related illnesses have increased locally. There have now been 148 heat related illnesses, up from the 131 last reported. There have been 11 cases of heat stroke, 71 cases of heat exhaustion, and 56 cases of heat fatigue or dehydration. The number of heat related deaths remain at 10. The updates are comprised of information provided by the El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and the County Coroners Office. The Health Department reminds residents that exposure to high temperatures can cause serious health problems, including death.
