( Mexican Independence Day Celebrations)....The actual event is celebrated on September 15 and 16 in Mexico.

Imperial County celebrations are scheduled for several days. A Viva Mexico Art exhibit opened Tuesday in Calexico. The exhibit will be available at the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center in Calexico though September 19. A Mariachi Celebration will be held Saturday September 14 in Calipatria at the Latin American Club. A Happy Independence Day Mexico Dance will be held in Niland on Saturday September 14. They will also view the Canelo Fight at the event. A Mexico Independence Day Grito will be held at 12 am on September 14th at Hidalgo Hall in Brawley. A Grito de Independencia will be held at Crummit Park in Calexico on September 14 from 6 to 11 pm. El Grito Sabor a Mexico will be held September 21 from 6-10 pm at Bucklin Park in El Centro
