(Calexico Police say and armed and dangerous murder suspect is at large)...The alert was issued Wednesday morning.
Calexico Police say they are actively searching for a suspect involved in a murder that occurred Tuesday. The Department says at around 7:14 Tuesday evening, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Estrada Blvd, in response to a report of a woman shot in the face. Witnesses reported a domestic dispute between the victim and the suspect before the shooting took place. A Calexico Police Officer arrived at the scene and discovered bloody drag marks leading to a dirt lot, where a woman bleeding from her injury was found in need of immediate medical attention. The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Agustine Baca 3rd, a Calexico resident, was seen by the officer fleeing the scene on foot. Calexico Police, with US Border Patrol Agents and County Sheriff's Deputy's swiftly developed a perimeter to capture the suspect. At 7:21 pm came under fire from the backyard of the suspect's house. Because of limited visibility and thick brush, officers were unable to return fire. Fortunately, no one was injured. An extensive search was put together; however, the suspect remains at large. The victim was described as a 29-year-old female resident of Calexico. Baca is wanted for murder and is considered armed and dangerous. The public is urged not to approach and to remain vigilant.
