(Senior hit by a car in Calexico)...It happened recently at 3rd Street and Heber Avenue.

Police say the 88-year-old man was crossing at the intersection, when he was struck. The impact knocked the man about ten feet away from the intersection. He was transferred to a local hospital, but died from the injuries. The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim told police his vision was impaired by the glare from the sun. The incident is under investigation. No citations have been issued at this time.
