A Saturday morning accident sent a child to Rady Children's Hospital with major injuries.

The accident occurred at about 8:45 a.m. on Saturday on State Route 78 near Ogilby Road. A car that was northbound on 78 apparently went out of control and ran off the road. The driver was injured and a child passenger had major injuries and was transported to the nearby Ranger Station and then flown by REACH Air Ambulance to Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. The accident remains under investigation.
