A Union Pacific freight train collided with parked rail cars near Niland Thursday.

Two men died in the crash. The accident happened at about 3:00 a.m. Thursday. According to several news sources, the freight train pulled off onto a siding and collided with the parked rail cars. Both men onboard the freight train sustained fatal injuries. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident.
