The Imperial Irrigation District says that approximately 45 transmission poles were knocked own east of Holtville.

According to the District, the incident was reported at about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday east of Holtville near Interstate 8. The IID said that a possible microburst event caused the damage. Crews are assessing the full extent of the damage and working to make repairs.
