A vehicle ended up in a canal Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred shortly before 2:00 p.m. on Old Highway 111 at Mead Road. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and suffered minor injuries. It took several hours to extract the vehicle from the canal. A section of guardrail and wooden post were damaged. Imperial County Road Department crews expect to complete repairs Wednesday.
