(Unemployment up slightly for June)....June numbers are the latest available.

The report was released by the Labor Market Division of the Employment Development Department. According to the report, unemployment for Imperial County was reported at 16.4 %. That is up from a revised 15.55% in May, and below the year ago estimate of 16.5%. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.3% for the state and 4.3 % for the nation during the same period. The report indicates there were 12,000 eligible workers unemployed in June out of a Labor Force of 73,100 in Imperial County.
