The Imperial Irrigation District has issued a Conserve Alert.

The Conserve Alert is in effect through Tuesday, July 2. The IID is asking customers in the Imperial and Coachella Valleys to help by reducing energy consumption and taking pressure off the electric grid and help avert possible rotating power outages. The IID suggests that you set you air conditioner to 78 degrees or higher and turn off unnecessary lights. Give your major appliances a break between 4 - 9 p.m. when demand for electricity peaks.  More energy saving tips are on the IID website.
