(The latest unemployment report is for May)....That report was released Friday morning.

It was released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. According to the report, May unemployment was recorded at 15.4 percent, down slightly from a revised 15.7 percent recorded for Aporil, and unchanged from the year ago numbers. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.5 percent for California and 3.7 percent for the nation during the same period. The May report indicates 11,100 eligible workers were unemployed out of a labor force of 72,400 in Imperial County. Once again, Imperial County has the highest unemployment rate in the state.
