A three alarm fire destroyed a Brawley building Monday night.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m., Brawley Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 395 West E Street. Almost immediately upon arrival a call for a second alarm was issued and just minutes later a third alarm was initiated. Mutual aid responded from almost every Imperial Valley fire department as firefighters battled the wind-aided blaze. The building, the old Cooks Market, was destroyed. Fire personnel remained on the scene late into the evening.
