A Friday morning traffic accident has snarled traffic in El Centro.

The accident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. in the area of Dogwood and Ross Avenues. Two vehicles were involved, and power poles were damaged. The Imperial Irrigation District has crews working to repair the poles and transmission lines. The repair work is expected to continue until midnight Friday. Drivers are advised to avoid Dogwood Road between Ross and Interstate 8 while IID crews work.
