El Centro Police and 7-Eleven are partnering for Operation Chill.

Now in its 29th year, Operation Chill allows law enforcement officers to reward kids they see doing good deeds or exhibiting positive behavior with a coupon for a free Slurpee at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway or Stripes store. The program allows officers to create positive connections with kids. Operation Chill started in Philadelphia in 1995 and since its inception has expanded nationwide and presented more than 24 million coupons to kids.

El Centro Police Deputy Chief Kelly Brown said," Offering a free Slurpee drink coupon provides our officers an easy and positive way to connect nd engage with youth. We are grateful for 7-Eleven's continued support of the law enforcement community and investment in initiatives, like Operation Cill, that help our officers nurture positive relationships with the communities we serve".
