( After two closed sessions, the City Council made a decision).....The item was listed on the agenda as an evaluation of the City Manager position.

The City Manager, Esperanza Colio-Warren was not allowed in the closed session. After the special meeting Friday, the Council convened into Public Session to announce their decision to dismiss the City Manager. The announcement brought tears to some in the audience. Colio-Warren, however, said after the meeting that she was alright with the decision, she said the only problem is that she will miss the friends she had made in Calexico during her tenure as City Manager. She said she was positive and looked forward in moving on. Fire Captain Juan Contreras was named Acting City Manager.
