(Calexico's vacant city council seats)...They are expected to be filled today.

The seats were left vacant by the recent recall of Raul Urena and and Gilberto Manzanarez. Last week Calexico received 10 applications from residents wishing to fill the vacancies through December.. Submitting applications were Victor Daniel Amparano, German J. Jimenez Jr., Victor Legaspi, Guadalupe Patricia Lizarraga, Adriana Marquez Blanca Morales-Liess, Jesus Solorzano, Mario Sotomayor, Lisa Tylenda and Patricia G. Urena. The City Council is holding a special meeting to discuss the applicants and possibly name two to fill tthe council seats on an interim basis.
