(A Moderate earthquake was recorded Monday Morning)....The magnitude 4.1 was recorded at 5:17 Monday morning.

It was centered about 11 miles southeast of Salton City. This quake comes as a swarm of earthquakes is being reported just south of Brawley. The latest quake in that swarm was recorded at 1:43 Monday morning. It was a magnitude 3.1. The swarm began early Saturday morning 3-4 miles south of Brawley. Since then there have been over 20 minor quakes between magnitude 3 and 3.7. There has been an abundance of micro-quakes below magnitude 3. Seismologists say swarms are not unusual for this area. They are normally faults letting off built up pressure. They are still monitored closely, in case they lead to something larger.
