A Mexicali man is in jail charged with felony Hit & Run.

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, 67-year-old Magdaleno Ruiz was hit by a car while crossing Imperial Avenue in Calexico. The driver of the red Mazda sedan didn't stop and fled south into Mexico. Calexico Police were able to identify the driver and the car. A hold was placed at the port of entry. At 2:00 a.m. Friday, David Reyes Della of Mexicali, was arrested as he attempted to re-enter the United States. Reyes Della confessed to the hit-and-run incident. He was booked into Imperial County Jail for Felony Hit and Run Driving.
