(March unemployment report has been released)....March are the latest numbers available.

The numbers are released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. According to the report, unemployment in Imperial County was 16.1 percent in March. That is down from a revised 17.6 % in February and above the year ago estimate of 15.3%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.3% for California and 3.9 % for the nation during the same period. The report indicates there were 11,800 unemployed individuals in March out of a Labor Force of 72,900.
