(Imperial Valley Healthcare District issues a statement)...Pioneers Memorial Hospital has filed a LAFCO expansion application.

The newly formed Imperial Valley Healthcare District does not support that action. The statement ssays the IVHD strongly opposes the expansion plans of Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District. The new District says they have delivered a written notice of its objection to the PMHD proposal to the LAFCO Commission. They say, with the forthcoming dissolution of PMHD mandated by AB 918, they deem pursuing expansion an unnecessary drain on public resources. The statement says IVHD is committed to the implementation of AB 918 and they are prepared to collaborate with PMHD to establish a dissolution date aand ensure a smooth transition with no interruptions in healthcare services. Neither LAFCO or PMHD have responded to the statement
