(Narcotics seized at the Calexico West Port of Entry)...An SUV was at the Port recently.
A Customs and Border Protection officer conducted a roving pre-primary inspection. The k-9 alerted to the possible presence of narcotics in the SUV. The vehicle was directed to the secondary inspection area. The vehicle was scanned by an x-ray machine. The machine discovered anomalies in the vehicle. CBP officers extracted 10 packages fromn the vehicle's gas tank and oil pan. The packages tested positive for about 8 pounds of Fentanyl powder, and just over five pounds of cocaine, with a combined estimated value of $171,600. The female driver, a US citizen, was arrested. The narcotics and vehicle were seized. The seizure is part of Operation Apollo.
