The Imperial County Board of Supervisors were busy Tuesday.

Among the items addressed by the Board was how to dispose of  excessi travel trailers. The 33 travel trailers were donated to Imperial County by the California Department of Social Services. The County Department of Public Works will attempt to donate the unoccupied trailers to local public agencies, community-based organizations and non-government agencies. Any trailers not distributed through that process will be sold through public auction or sealed bid coordinated by the County Purchasing Department.

The Board also approved a resolution to rehabilitate 3.4 miles of roadway in the Salton City area. The cost is estimated at $2.9 million. Funding will come from the SB1 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation funds.

The Board also approved funding to add and fund a Multimedia/Communications Specialist I and a Multimedia/Communications Specialist II for the Imperial County Public Health Department. The positions will be funded by State Aid Realignment funds. The new positions are expected to improve communications and meet needs in the rapidly evolving digital world.

The Board will next meet on January 9, 2024.
