The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting extreme heat and increased chances for thunderstorms through Wednesday.

The Valley was hit with scattered rain activity Saturday with the heaviest precipitation in the northlend and in the Holtville area. The Imperial Irrigation District reported several power outages resulted from the storms. Now the NWS says Extreme Heat is expected Monday and then a slight cooling trend through the rest of the week. The possibility of showers and thunderstorms in the Imperial and Yuma Valleys will remain through Wednesday.
