It was recently announced that Yulil Alonso Garza is also running for Supervisor District 4. She has a creer in education, having worked in the Calexico Unified School District, Imperial County Office of Education, Coachella and Blythe. Since the death of her son, she has worked to combat street violence, especially against young people. Alonso-Garza says she wants to create a safer Imperial County with increased access and opportunities for youth and their families. She says she wants to prioritize the underserved communities of Brawley, Westmorland, Calipatria, Niland, Salton Sea beach, Vista Del Mar, Salton City, Desert Shores and Bombay beach.
