(Recall Committee submits signatures)...They are now being verified.

The Committee was formed by Former Calexico City Council person Maritza Hurtado. The committee is attempting to place a recall vote on the March Ballot. They want to recall Calexico Mayor Raul Urena and City Council member Gilberto Manzanarez. County Elections has the signatures gathered. They have until December 8 to verify the signatures and determine if there are enough signatures to qualify the recall for the ballot. Hurtado and her committee conducted a major campaign on Social Media describing the reasons for the recall and urging residents to sign their petitions
