The California Highway Patrol will be out in force this Thanksgiving Weekend.
As millions of people head out on the highway for the holiday, the CHP will serve up it's annual Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP). During the MEP, CHP officers will be working to assist and educate motorists as well as enforce traffic safety laws. They will be looking for unsafe driving behaviors, including impaired and distracted driving, speed and reckless driving, and people not wearing seat belts. The Maximum Enforcement Period will begin at 6:01 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, and continue through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 26.
