(The 4 day holiday weekend starts Thursday)....All non-emergency County Departments will be closed Thursday and Friday, as will all Imperial Irrigation District offices.

Most other Federal, State and local businesses will be closed those days, as well. The California Highway Patrol and all other Law Enforcement offices will go into their holiday patrols in an attempt to keep the roadways safe during the holiday. Thanksgiving is a major off-road holiday. The sand-dune population soars in the recreation areas in and around Glamis and Buttercup Valley.
