Yuma County Sheriff's deputies responded to Antelope Union High School after a student brought a gun on campus.

Deputies responded to the campus Monday afternoon after it ws learned the student brought the firearm to school. The student told authorities that he brought the gun to school to scare off a bully. After being on campus he had second thoughts and asked two friends to help him conceal the weapon in their backpacks. Teachers were told of the gun , isolated the students, and took the gun. Deputies cleared the school grounds and then stayed to investigate. YCSO said that no immediate threats were identified.

A 15-year-old male, 16-year-old female and a 16-year old male were all booked at Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center and charged with Misconduct Involving Weapons and Minors Prohibited from Possessing a Firearm. Deputies commended the students who reported the incident and the teachers for taking swift action after receiving the report.
