U.S. Border Patrol agents made another seizure of liquid methamphetamine.

Late last week, a commercial tractor approached the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 86. While agents conducted an immigration check on the driver, a K-9 unit conducted a sniff test of the tractor-trailer. The K-9 alerted to a saddle fuel tank. In secondary inspection discrepancies were noted between the tractor's multiple fuel tanks. Agents were able to determine that one of the fuel tanks contained over 1,000 pounds of liquid meth with a street value estimated at over $1.5 million. The 40-year-old driver was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.

Just a day earlier, a similar load of liquid meth was seized at the Otay Mesa port of entry.
