Tara McGrath has been confirmed as U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of California.
After months of being stalled in committee due to political wrangling over unrelated matters, McGrath was confirmed by the full Senate on Friday. The confirmation will be official when President Joe Biden signs a document finalizing the procedure. McGrath will take over from Andrew Haden, who was appointed acting U.S. Attorney in August. Haden took over from Randy Grossman who served in the capacity for over two years.
McGrath graduated from Boston College and the University of Michigan Law School. She served as a judge advocate during active duty wit the U.S. Marine Corps from 2005 - 2007. McGrath has served with the U.S. Attorney 's Office for a number of years and most recently has been with the Department of Justice as a civilian litigation attorney advisor for the Marines.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of California encompasses San Diego and Imperial County.
