Imperial County has a budget.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the fiscal 2023-2024 budget. The new $662.4 million budget is a net increase of 10.7 per cent, $64.2 million, over the previous fiscal year. The budget appropriates $217.3 million for Public Assistance, $156.3 million for Health and Sanitation and $126.5 million for Public Protection. The budget also includes $123 million in General Fund expenses for County departments. According to the County, the General Fund is expected to increase to $122.5 million over the previous year. The uptick in revenue is attributed to an increase in sales taxes and new revenue streams from renewable energy projects.
