(Mexico's Independence was celebrated in Calexico)....The celebration was held Sunday night at SDSU/IV.

San Diego State University Imperial Valley Campus, the Calexico Rotary Club and the Consulate of Mexico in Calexico hosted the event. It featured the Mariachi Sin Fronteras Festival that included music and local vendors selling arts and crafts. It was followed by the traditional Grito De Independencia. All the proceeds go to scholarship opportunities for High School and SDSU IV students. Organizers say the turnout was very good.
