A man is out a lot of money after renting a house.

According to El Centro Police, the man said he went online and rented a house on Euclid Avenue in El Centro. The man said he found the house on Facebook Marketplace and sent more than $3,700 to cover the first month's rent and s security deposit. He was supposed to receive the keys to his rental house but never did and the perpetrator of the fraud deactivated his Facebook account and phone number.
