(Groundbreaking on New Apartment Complex)....The ceremony was held late last week.

This is the fourth affordable housing complex being developed by Chesea Investment Corporation in El Centro. The new complex is being called the Jacaranda Gardens. It is being built on North Waterman Avenue, across from the New El Centro Fire Station and First Responders Park. The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new 96-unit, $36.64 million development was attended by  State and El Centro dignataries, along with representatives from Chelsea Development. The apartments will be 100% electric and will house low-Income families earning 30to 60% of the area median income. Construction is expected to be completed in about 16 months
