(Single Vehicle Collision)....It caused a major traffic back-up.

Thursday morning a vehicle traveling south on Highway 86 went out of control and crashed into a power pole at the Aten road intersection. The impact knocked the pole down, blocking the southbound lanes. Southbound traffic on the highway was backed up from Aten Road to First Street in Imperial. Crews removed the pole from the roadway, and the all clear was given at around 9:15 Thursday morning. Officials say traffic at the intersection will be controlled by flashing red lights for the next few months. The collision is under investigation. It is not known if there were any injuries as a result of he collision..
