A woman reported she was scammed out of more tan $1,700.

The woman told El Centro Police that she responded to an ad on Facebook about renting a house. The victim told investigators that she was told to buy gift cards worth $1,700 in order to rent the house. The woman provided the scammer with the card codes and then was blocked by crook. There was no answer at the address used by the scammer.
