Imperial Police arrested two men for the theft of several vehicles in the city.

The two were arrested following a two-week investigation into the theft of several vehicles during the month of April. Abel Arguilez, 42, of Imperial and Jesse Parra, 37, of Riverside, were taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was conducted at Arguilez residence and investigators recovered evidence, including a vehicle that had recently been reported stolen. Victims and neighbors had provided surveillance videos linking the same suspect vehicle to all the crimes. Officers were then able to identify the suspects. Both are believed to be a part of a larger-scale operation that stole vehicles in several counties and then took the stolen vehicles into Mexico. The pair was booked into Imperial County Jail for multiple felonies, including 3 counts of Vehicle Theft/Grand Theft Property, as well as charges of Possession of Burglary Tools and Criminal Conspiracy.
