A Wednesday traffic stop in El Centro resulted in an arrest.

El Centro Police made a stop for a traffic violation on S. 4th Street. A police K-9 was used to check the SUV and alerted to the vehicle. A search led to the discovery 17 ponds of fentanyl in the form of counterfeit oxycodone pills. The driver of the SUV, Evangelina Garcia Mesa was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail on charges of Transportation of a Controlled Substance.
