A disturbance at the Imperial Valley Mall Sunday evening ended with 5 individuals being arrested.

El Centro Police responded to the mall shortly after 6:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a disturbance in the parking lot. The disturbance apparently began with two individuals and then escalated to several more people being involved. Police were able to break up the group and, in the process, arrested 5 individuals between the ages of 18 and 21. All five were booked into Imperial County Jail on a variety of charges. One of the individuals, a 19-year-old, was charged with possession of a concealed weapon in a vehicle when a loaded 9mm handgun was found in his car.
