They were released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. The Numbers are for December. Imperial County's unemployment rate ended the year down from the previous month. The jobless rate in December came in at 14.8%. That is down from a revised 16.7% recorded in November 2022, and above the year ago estimate of 14.0%. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 3.7% for the state and 3.3% for the nation during the same period.
