(25th Anniversary Desert Clean-up)....It is Saturday.

It is also a Fee Free Weekend at the Imperial Sand Dune Recreation Area. The LANDS Foundation and the BLM are using the Free Fee Weekend to draw in volunteers to participate in the Desert Clean-up. It is an annual event designed to help clean the dunes and keep them open for all to enjoy. Volunteers can register Saturday at 8:00 am at any one of the several registration stations in the North and South Dunes. There will be three staging areas. At Glamis Flats in the North Dunes and Gordon's Well in the South Dunes. And the Main Stage  area will be at the Flagpole. Lunch will be at 11:30 am and prizes will be given away. Organizers suggest you bring the whole family. Yamaha has awarded a $10,000 grant to the LANDS Foundation in support of the 25th Annual Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area Sand Dunes Clean-up
