(El Centro Program moves to the second round)....It is the Downtown Facade Program.

The City is accepting applications for the second round. This phase is for businesses that front Main Street between Fourth and Eighth Streets. They are the only ones eligible in the second round. The city anticipates funding the improvement of about 6 downtown businesses the the $135,000 approved. El Centro Community Services Director Adrriana Nava said because the funds originate from a federal program, applicants must meet additional requirements to be eligible. Nava said Community Development Block Grants come with a lot more strings attached. Contact Community Services for all the details.
