Yuma authorities are investigating the attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office received a report of the attempted kidnapping in the 10-500 block of East 34th Street at about 8:51 p.m. Saturday. According to YCSO, a grey, early 2000's model SUV was westbound on 34th Street when it drove by the 11-year-old girl who was walking near a residence. The vehicle made a U-turn and parked, A man, described as a heavy-set Hispanic male with dark curly hair, a beard, and an odor of alcohol, called to the girl. The juvenile walked towards the residence and the suspect followed her into the driveway of the home. The suspect grabbed. the girls shirt collar and attempted to take her back to the SUV. Shows able to break free and run inside the house. The suspect then took coffin the vehicle. YCSO is requesting that anyone with any information on the incident contact the Sheriff's Office.
