(CBP warning of another scam)...It is a telephone scam.

The Customs and Border Protection says the scam is being reported across the nation. CBP says scammers posing as Border Patrol Agents and Customs and Border Protection Officers. In a pre-recorded message, the scammer tells the victim a box of drugs and money being shipped and it has the victims name on it and it has been intercepted.. They are instructed to press 1 to speak with an agent. The fake agent then attempts to extract the victims bank information. CBP says do not give out any information. They recommend you copy the phone number from Caller ID and hang up and report the incident as soon as possible. The Department of Homeland Security says the CBP and Border Patrol never solicit funds over the phone. The attempted scams should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission
