(Next Elections are November 8th)...The candidate filing period is currently underway.

The deadline to file is Friday. The deadline will be extended five days in the races in which the incumbent does not file by the deadline. So far, the filing period for one race will be extended. That is for the El Centro City Council seat that encumbent Cheryl Viegas Walker has said she will not pursue. Candidate packets can be picked up at individual city halls or at the County Registrar of Voters office. The packets must be returned by the deadline.
