Credit card skimmers were found in a local store.

Store personnel discovered the electronic devices on two self-checkout scanners at Walmart in El Centro, The credit card skimmers are placed on credit card readers and allow thieves to steal the information contained on the magnetic strip or chip on credit and debit cards. With the information the crooks can make charges or create fictitious accounts. Store personnel are reviewing video of the store. Just last month credit card skimmers were discovered on gas pumps at two El Centro convenience stores.
