U. S. Border Patrol agents found nearly $190,000 worth of drugs hidden in a pick up truck.

The truck approached the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City early Monday morning. The truck was referred to secondary inspection where a K-9 detection team alerted to the vehicle. A search led to the discovery of approximately 4.2 kilograms of fentanyl and an additional 2.1 kilograms of heroin. The driver, a 53-year-old man, and a passenger, a 27-year-old woman, both Mexican nationals were arrested.
