El Centro Police and Fire Departments responded to the report of a man who had overdosed on drugs.

The man was outside a convenience store in the 500 block of North Imperial Avenue. Emergency responders found the man unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A person at the scene told officers that they and the victim had both used fentanyl. The Imperial County Coroner's Office is investigating.
