The National Weather Service (NWS) says there is the potential for dangerous heat by the end of the week.

 Afternoon temperatures in the Imperial and Yuma Valleys are expected to hit 110 or higher by Thursday and last through the weekend. Overnight lows will be in the mid to super 70's.
